  • Must have and maintain a current, active, valid, unrestricted state license to practice medicine in one of the 50 states in the United States, or the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the US Virgin Islands
  • Must be eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons or the American Osteopathic Surgeons.
  • Graduates of foreign medical schools are required to possess both a medical license and other certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) or 4th Pathway.
  • Have a minimum of one year of experience within the last three years routinely practicing as a physician in rendering orthopedic care.
Specific Tasks:
  • Be able to perform the full range of general medical services consistent with their training and experience to adequately diagnose and treat acute diseases and injuries to include but not limited to: Skin Pulmonary System Head Gastrointestinal System Eyes Musculoskeletal System Ears Genitourinary System Nose Reproductive System Throat Lymphatic System Neck Central Nervous System Cardiovascular System Endocrine System
  • Special emphasis is placed on the musculoskeletal system. The orthopedic surgeon is expected to perform independently and to have consultative responsibility at high level of professional competence.

Hours of Performance:
  • The contractor shall provide contract Physician services for BJACH, for approximately forty (40) hours per week. Under no circumstances will the physician on duty leave the MTF until his/her tour is complete. Overtime is not authorized. Duty hours shall be set forth by the Chief of the Department in accordance with guidelines set by the Deputy Commander for Clinical Services. As a general guideline, the hours shall include but are not limited to 0800 to 1630 hours, Monday through Friday (excluding federal holidays). This includes a ½ hour lunch break, which is not paid by the Government.
